Bill was my Flt Sgt on 92 Sqn, I have such fond memories of him reducing an out of line guy to jelly when it was needed (I often take a moment to remember those times even now it makes me smile). There was though an even nicer kinder man behind this, although Pam would sort him out when necessary, she was his rock). He was always there to help you out and offer advice when needed. Take a much deserved break now Bill you deserve it. What’s the old saying “They broke the mould when they made Bill” thanks for the memories, Steve and Milly P.

We first met Bill and Pam Farmer on 92 Sqn at RAF Wildenrath in 1990, and kept in touch over the next 32 years. Bill was a great man to work with, his determination and strong work effort set the rest of us a great example Despite his hard outer shell, Bill really cared about the people who worked for him, and he was well loved by his troops. When push came to shove, you could guarantee that Bill would have your back. Socially, Bill and Pam were a delightful and welcoming couple and we had lots of fun. Bill was also really active in his support of charities and RAF Rugby. Bill and Pam are both sadly missed. PS: one of Bill’s gifts was his ability to undo a bra with one hand while greeting ladies (we wonder how many other ladies had that experience 😂). We look forward to having a Dark & Stormy with them in Sid’s Bar one day. Love from Kim and Gaynor.

I too met Bill on 92 Sqn at Wildenrath. He was a Flight Sergeant in the proper sense…hard as nails when he wanted something done but as soft as a brush if you needed some TLC. It was an honour to have served alongside him (and Mark too who I roomed with in the Falklands in ‘88). God bless you Bill…RIP 🥲🥲💗

No matter how many years went by, we were all mates and met when we could. Great man to have known and will always remember the fun had as a group where ever we were. Keep smiling Bill, will always remember you.

Bill was my Flt Sgt on 92(F) Sqn 31 years ago, a formidable man respected by all. We we reunited by the 31 Sqn Association, he promptly handed me the reunion coordinator role, i still daren't say no! We worked together to put on the 100th Anniversary Celebration weekend and he then let me loose with the words that he trusted me to it right! That was high praise from a man who always set high standards! He passed his golf clubs on to me as I retired from the RAF and he had to give up playing, now whenever I have a quiet moment on the course I will always have a reminder of a great man and good friend. Rest in peace Bill, job well done!

Bill was a wonderful guy. He was my Flight Sergeant on 92 (East India) Squadron based at Wildenrath. He took great care over us in that time. I had an especially difficult time and Bill steered me through it, ensuring in part my future. Thank you Bill. See you in the Heavenly Bar one day, first round on me. Fair Skies brother, fair skies.
